About the Candidate
Chris Forbrich
is a lifelong San Antonian, loving the culture, history
and diversity that the city has to offer all its residents
and visitors. Forbrich is a graduate of Health Careers
High School where he learned about the compassion of
the suffering and the tending of the needy.
Forbrich holds
a Bachelor of Business Administrator from the University
of Texas at San Antonio in Information Systems. While
attending UTSA, Forbrich was an active student leader,
serving as the Student Body Treasurer, President of
a Fraternity, and a member of the University's InterFraternity
Council.
Forbrich owns
a small computer consulting business, Forbrich &
Associates, where he works with small business owners
to build a computer system that helps them streamline
their operations and reduce costs. As a small business
owner himself, Forbrich understands the value of small
business in the community and wants to ensure that city
ordinances aren't created that unfairly hurt those business
owners.
In addition to
his consulting firm, he is the Manager of Information
Technology for BlackBrush Oil & Gas, LP, a locally
based oil & gas operator. Forbrich started working
for the BlackBrush Management Team in August 2001.
Forbrich is a
member of several Equal Rights organizations that work
towards ensuring fairness and equal civil rights for
all. Forbrich has been actively involved in these causes
since 2003.
Chris Forbrich
comes from a family of carpenters and small business
owners that have worked in and around District One for
nearly 100 years. He currently lives near North Star
Mall and spends his free time remodeling a house that
his grandparents built in 1955.
He is running for the District
1 seat on the San Antonio City Council because he wants
to make for a better community and bring accountability
back to local government.
